The WEC Platform team is building a next generation data and metadata storage platform to provide backbone to our application. We are going to a build reliable, resilient, and performant scalable data store and data access layer. Amazingly rich and fast user experience as well as data driven features are not possible without this solid data tier and this position presents a unique opportunity to build this backbone. We are seeking to hire a passionate developer who has strong technical skills, is customer focused, who is a great team player attitude, has the ability to quickly ramp up on new technologies and consistently drives for results.
Primary Responsibilities Provide strong technical leadership in building the data store, data access layer and object layer that has extensibility, testability and maintainability. Design, develop and timely deliver high quality platform code. Partner with PM and test teams as well as relevant Microsoft groups to deliver solutions from concept to delivery. Contribute to feature, design, and code reviews. Provide mentoring to junior members of the team.
Required Skills and Experience 7 years of experience designing & developing robust, extensible and testable platform code. Passion for engineering excellence and quality in code & design. Native C++ coding and debugging. SQL CE experience, knowledge of SQL, experience with ISAM access. Database fundamentals and tuning. Performance tuning - ideally on a product that used a database. Excellent customer focus along with solid communication & cross-group skills. A BS or MS degree in CS/CE or EE.
Pluses: Experience with Entity Frameworks. Experience with C# and .NET. Expert level knowledge in design patterns. Experience with Test Driven Development.
